A MÚSICA E A LÍNGUA INGLESA - MUSIC AND THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

      YES! ENGLISH AND CHESS! – São aulas particulares de inglês com criatividade e diversão. Todos sabem que a Música ocupa um lugar especial na vida de muitos profissionais, tais como: filósofos, cientistas, terapeutas, psicólogos, médicos e professores. Ela é importante no desenvolvimento das habilidades da criança, adolescente ou adulto.  A cada ano, procura-se estudar  com  detalhes a música e fazer uso dela nas aulas, ao tornar assim, a gramática agradável e acessível.

     De acordo com o nível de cada aluno, as músicas são apresentadas e muitas delas escolhidas pelo próprio estudante. No final do ano, em um grande Show de Talentos, são apresentadas aos pais e a toda a sociedade local. A apresentação de 2016 foi emocionante!  O tema trabalhado foi A FAMÍLIA e sua importância na sociedade.

     Além de cantar, em grupo, ou sozinhos, os alunos que já tocavam um instrumento musical, puderam se apresentar e foram aplaudidos. Outros estudantes  destacaram-se no ritmo das Músicas durante as aulas, e assim, também, puderam mostrar os seus talentos.

        Os resultados têm sido os melhores, pois além de aprenderem uma nova língua, os alunos do “YES! ENGLISH AND CHESS!” estão fazendo uso da Música em sala de aula e deixando a timidez de lado! E, novidades virão em 2017! Junte-se a nós! – “A Música dá alma para o universo, asas para a mente, e Vida para todas as coisas.”

       YES! ENGLISH AND CHESS! - They are  private English classes with   creativity and fun moments. Everyone knows that Music occupies a special place in the lives of many professionals, such as: philosophers, scientists, therapists, psychologists, doctors and teachers. It is important in developing the skills of every child, adolescent or adult. Each year, you will study in detail the Music and make use of it with each class, thus making the grammar pleasant and accessible.

   According to the level of each student, the songs are presented and many of them chosen by the students themselves. At the end of year, a great Talent Show is presented to parents and the entire local society. The 2016 presentation was exciting! The theme worked was THE FAMILY and its importance in society.

            In addition to singing, in a group, or alone, students who were already playing a musical instrument could perform and were applauded. Other students excelled in the rhythm of the Songs during classes, and so they could also show their talents.

       The results have been the best, because in addition to learning a new language, the students of "YES! ENGLISH AND CHESS! - "are making use of Music in the classroom and leaving shyness aside! YES! ENGLISH AND CHESS! – A JOGADA CERTA NA VIDA - THE RIGHT MOVEMENT

Na sociedade do século XXI, o estudo da Língua Inglesa significa uma oportunidade de crescer em todas as áreas da vida.Seja no campo profissional ou nas relações sociais. O seu ensino e sua aprendizagem exigem do professor e do aluno, uma intensa determinação, pois eles acontecem ao longo da vida.

No ano passado (2015), a Teacher Janice Corrêa Prestes, com um trabalho sério e comprometido com suas aulas particulares de inglês, preparou sua aluna ANA LAURA PAES DE CAMARGO, a fim de passar um mês em São Francisco, na Califórnia, nos Estados Unidos.  A jovem estudante ganhou uma bolsa de estudo da ETEC (Escola Técnica Estadual) – Sede em Apiaí, em Administração, com o mérito de sua dedicação aos estudos e a frequência de 100%.

A brasileira Ana Laura, natural de Apiaí-SP, teve o privilégio de conhecer uma nova cultura, fazer amigos, ser hospedada em casa de americanos, e acima de tudo, desenvolver os seus conhecimentos no inglês. Assim, através desta rica experiência, ela poderá preparar-se para seus estudos universitários e vida profissional.

As aulas de Inglês da Teacher Janice são particulares, e ela alfabetiza as crianças neste idioma através do Jogo de Xadrez. (www.teacherjanicechessgame.blogspot.com) “YES! ENGLISH AND CHESS!” é uma forma didática e prazerosa de aprender. Os adolescentes e adultos são orientados com base nos quatro pilares de sustentação do seu aprendizado: OUVIR, FALAR, LER E ESCREVER.

Por isso, a estudante ANA LAURA PAES DE CAMARGO,fez a jogada certa ao dedicar tempo aos estudos, com foco e visão em seu futuro. Hoje, ela está formada na área técnica Administrativa e com uma base sólida da Língua Inglesa. Um belo exemplo a ser seguido por todos que almejam conquistar o sucesso na vida.

In the society of this century, the  study of English means an opportunity to grow in all areas of life in the professional field or in social relations. Its teaching and  learning require teacher and student determination as they happen throughout life.

Last year (2015), the Teacher Janice Corrêa Prestes, with a serious and committed work with her private English classes, prepared her student ANA LAURA CAMARGO PAES to spend a month in San Francisco, California - USA. The young student won a study of the ETEC (Technical School) - Headquarters in Apiaí in Administration, with the merit of his dedication to studies and a  good frequency.

Ana Laura, had the privilege to experience a new culture, make friends, be hosted on American home, and above all, develop her knowledge in English. Thus through this rich experience, she could prepare for her university studies and professional life.

" It Is an educational and enjoyable way to learn. Adolescents and adults study based on the four supporting pillars of learning: LISTENING, SPEAKING, READING AND WRITING.

Therefore, the student ANA LAURA PAES DE CAMARGO, did the right effort at spending time studying, focused and vision for her future. Today  she is graduated in the  Technical Administrative area with a solid base of English. A nice example to be followed by all who aim to achieve success in life.

DOAR: UM ATO DE AMOR - YOUR DONATION IS AN ACT OF LOVE

Vive-se em uma época movida pelo impulso de se obter resultados imediatos em todas as áreas da sociedade. O ser humano parece perder a noção da importância de relacionar-se com o seu próximo, de olhar nos olhos e expressar o amor tão ausente nas atitudes, pois ele tem sido cantado apenas “em verso e prosa”.

Ao longo dos anos, a experiência da prática do jogo de xadrez em sala de aula, permite aos educadores obter bons resultados na aprendizagem. Ele leva o aluno a concentrar-se em suas atividades, a respeitar regras e o posicionamento do adversário, o administrar o tempo, e ainda a olhar nos olhos do seu oponente e sentir as suas próprias emoções, assim do companheiro sentado à sua frente. De todo o aprendizado a respeito do xadrez, ainda há de se inovar, pois o brasileiro é criativo por natureza.

  Meus alunos particulares de Inglês, especialmente as crianças no período inicial, usufruem da oportunidade de aprender uma segunda língua através deste jogo milenar. Durante as aulas, aliado a todo processo de aprendizagem, o introduzi nas aulas de inglês. Através dele, o aluno, em um trabalho de equipe, pode comunicar-se de maneira informal, utilizando expressões corriqueiras do jogo, tais como: “É a minha vez”, “É a sua vez”, “Não mova”, “Espere”, e outras tantas. O Jogo de Xadrez também ensina o quanto importante é trabalhar em grupo, e o quanto necessitamos uns dos outros. O que seria do “Rei” se não fossem os “Peões”?

Ao finalizar as atividades do ano letivo, mostramos a sociedade local o nosso aprendizado através do tema: “DOAR: UM ATO DE AMOR”. No decorrer do ano, reunimos brinquedos novos (trabalho em Equipe), e na véspera do Natal fizemos a entrega para três creches de bairros carentes da nossa cidade. (conscientização). Entretanto, o objetivo inicial era apenas atender uma delas.

 Benjamin Franklin disse: “A vida é uma espécie de jogo de Xadrez, no qual temos pontos a ganhar e adversários a enfrentar”. No momento atual, um dos adversários a enfrentar é a falta de amor entre as pessoas.Que em 2016, a jogada certa no tabuleiro da vida seja: “O amor não apenas falado, mas praticado”!  Janice Corrêa Prestes

We live in an age managed by the impulse to get immediate results in all areas of society. The human being seems to lose track of the importance of relating to his next, to look at his eyes and express love so absent in attitudes, as it has been sung only "in verse and prose."

Over the years the experience of  practicing Chess in the classroom,  has allowed teachers to get good results in learning. It takes the student to concentrate on his activities, to respect rules and the opponent's positioning, manage time, and also to look into the eyes of his adversary and feel his own emotions, as well as the  fellow sitting before him.  But Brazilians people love to inovate because we are creative by nature.

My private English students, especially the beginners enjoy the opportunity to learn a second language through Chess. During the classes I introduced it  associated with the learning process. Through it students in teamwork  can communicate informally, using  everyday  game expressions such as: "It's my turn," "It's your turn", "Do not move," "Wait "and many others. Chess  also teaches how important it is to work together, and how much we need each other. What would be the "King" without the "Pawn"?

In 2015 at the end of the activities of the school, we show our learning through the theme: "DONATE: AN ACT OF LOVE". During the year we collected new toys (team work), and on Christmas Eve we hand them over to three day care centers in poor neighborhoods. (awareness). Although the goal was to give  for only one of them.

Benjamin Franklin said, "Life is a kind of Chess , in which we have points to win and opponents to face." Currently one of the opponents to face is the lack of love among people. A VIDA E O JOGO DE XADREZ - LIFE AND CHESS GAME

A vida pode ser comparada ao Jogo de Xadrez. Cada movimento ou decisão traz vantagens ou desvantagens para nós. Diante dessa realidade, a sociedade atual requer dos indivíduos o tempo para pensar, planejar e inovar nas suas tomadas de decisões. Isso recorda o herói norte-americano Benjamin Franklin, quando ele afirmou com bastante propriedade: “A Vida é uma espécie de xadrez, no qual temos pontos a ganhar e adversários a enfrentar”.

Na verdade, como as peças estão em constante movimento, à existência humana não para, pois ela vive em constante transformação. Assim, os nossos projetos e planos para sua perfeita execução, precisam ser muito bem planejados.

Além do mais, o jogo de xadrez tem duas palavras fundamentais: Estratégia e Tática.  E na nossa Vida, elas estão presentes? Como fazer o seu uso? A primeira requer um longo tempo de preparo, e a segunda, pouco para alcançar o objetivo proposto. Charles Martel, Duque da Austrália, introduziu uma maneira diferente de jogar o que pode ser comparado ao jogo da vida – um tabuleiro gigante com pessoas reais em lugar de cada peça do Jogo de Xadrez.

Imaginemos esta situação nos dias atuais. Qualquer um pode ser uma peça (Peão,Torre, Cavalo,Bispo, Dama,Rei).Dessa forma, cada uma tem uma função, e unidas alcançam um objetivo em comum. E no cotidiano, como seria a nossa reação ao fazer a caminhada no grande Tabuleiro da Vida? Os desafios são inúmeros, cada indivíduo recebe uma formação e um grau de informação. Ainda por cima, as nossas reações diferem diante dos obstáculos e das vitórias.

No jogo,o Peão é limitado, porém se seguir em frente,ao atravessar o tabuleiro com honestidade e firmeza, será “coroado”. A Torre nos ensina que ninguém chega às alturas sem antes sentir o cansaço da subida. O conhecimento a leva alçar voos cada vez mais altos. Com o cavalo aprendemos a atingir objetivos sem “pisar” ou “machucar”os outros, mesmo diante da força a ele conferida. Agir com prudência e sabedoria nos leva ao sucesso. O Bispo alerta para a necessidade de introspecção em determinados momentos, e com o interior fortalecido seguir em frente, mesmo que onosso exterior esteja ‘destroçado’ pelas lutas diárias. A Dama realça a visão aguçada e feminina, porém com poder, possui estratégia de longo alcance e lealdade ao Rei. E o Rei nos fala da importância de valorizarmos o próximo. 

Enfim, dependemos uns dos outros e ninguém consegue viver sozinho. O homem é um ser gregário. Saber ouvir e aprender com o nosso semelhante revela o segredo para viver bem com todos em qualquer ambiente, seja pessoal ou profissional. Ainda mais, nos dias atuais, marcados pelas “selfies”, onde cada um cultua a si próprio. Um novo ano chegou, e com ele muitos desafios. Que as nossas “jogadas” de hoje, sejam elas as mais variadas, possam nos preparar para as vitórias com um “xeque-mate” no amanhã.Sem nunca esquecer, a exemplo do Jogo de Xadrez, a vida também tem regras e elas precisam ser respeitadas. Life can be compared to Chess Game. Every move or decision brings advantages or disadvantages for us. Before this reality the current society requires individuals time to think, plan and innovate in its decision making. This reminds the American hero Benjamin Franklin when he said quite rightly: "Life is a kind of Chess, in which we have points to win and opponents to face".

In fact, as the pieces are in constant motion, the human existence does not stop because it lives in constant transformation. Thus our project sand plans for its perfect execution need to be very well planned.

Besides Chess Game has two fundamental words: Strategy and tactics. And in our life are they present? How to use them? The first word requires a long preparation time, and the second word a little to achieve the goal. Charles Martel, Duke of Australia, introduced a different way of playing that can be compared to the game of life - a giant chess board with real people instead of each piece chess game.

  Imagine this situation in the present day. Anyone can be a piece (Pawn, Tower, Knight, Bishop, Queen, King). In this way each has a function and together they reach a common goal. And in daily life what would be our reaction to walk on the large Board of Life? The challenges are numerous, each individual receive san training and a degree of information. More over our reactions differ in the face of obstacles and victories.

In the game, the Pawn is limited, but if it  move son across the board with honesty and firmness, it will be "crowned". The Tower teaches us that nobody comes to the heights without feeling the stress of the rising. The knowledge to take advance higher flights. With the knight learn to achieve goals without "stepping" or "hurt" the other, even in the forces he conferred. Act with prudence and wisdom leads us to success. The Bishop indicates the need of introspection at certain times, and with the interior strengthened inside move on, even though our outward is 'broken' by the daily struggles. The lady highlights the sharp-eyed and feminine, but with power, has far-reaching strategy and loyalty to the King. And the King tells us of the importance of valuing the next.

Anyway, depend on each the rand no one can live alone. The man is a gregarious. Know how to listen and learning from our neighbor reveals the secret to living well with everyone in any environment, be it personal or professional. Further, today marked by "self" where each one worships himself. A new year has arrived, and with it many challenges. Our "Plays" today be they the most varied can prepare us for “wins” a "checkmate" on tomorrow. Never forget the example of the Chess Game, life also has rules and they must be respected. Happy 2015!

JOGO: UM DESAFIO EM SALA DE AULA - GAME : A CHALLENGE IN THE CLASSROOM

Toda criança ou adolescente gosta de DESAFIOS! Na realidade se fizermos uma pesquisa profunda vamos concluir que o ser humano é movido por DESAFIOS! E dentro desta questão podemos incluir os JOGOS e o quanto eles podem ser grandes aliados em áreas específicas de aprendizado. Muitas pesquisas têm comprovado que eles melhoram habilidades cognitivas e perceptuais. 

Durante dez anos tive a oportunidade de desenvolver um projeto xadrez vitorioso, nas aulas de matemática, dentro da Escola Pública.  Hoje aplico a experiência adquirida em aulas de Inglês, com crianças e pré adolescentes, e  os tenho alfabetizado nesta segunda língua através do Jogo de Xadrez e seus preciosos ensinamentos. 

Uma vez por mês dividimos a sala em dois grupos mistos. Eles esperam com ansiedade este dia, pois o Jogo de Xadrez é um DESAFIO onde a mente pratica a ginástica através de seus inúmeros neurônios e as turmas aprendem ao brincar.  Antes do “Dia do Jogo, ou o Dia do Desafio” as aulas são focadas em temas que prepararão os alunos para utilizá-los no jogo, tais como verbos em tempos corretos e diálogos que facilitarão o trabalho em equipe. Cada aluno tem o seu “livrinho” de apoio. 

Durante o jogo eles ouvem músicas que aprenderam durante o mês. Tudo é realizado com muita liberdade e prazer, assim como dos alunos como a professora. Quando existe prazer em aprender, há prazer em ensinar! O Jogo de Xadrez não ocupa o papel central das aulas, mas sem dúvida é um fator motivador que tem feito a diferença!

        Every child or teen like CHALLENGES ! In fact if we make deep research we conclude that the human being is moved by CHALLENGES! And in this issue we include GAMES and how they can be great allies in specific learning areas . Many researches have proven that they improve cognitive and perceptual skills . 

        For ten years I  had the opportunity to develop a victorious Ches Project in math classes , within the Public School. Nowadays I apply my experience in English classes, with children and pre teens. They learn a second language through the Chess Game and its precious teachings . 

        Once a month we have  two mixed groups . They anxiously await this day. Chess Game is a CHALLENGE where the mind practicing gymnastics through its numerous neurons and groups learn to play and speak English. Before the " Match Day , or Challenge Day " classes are focused on topics that will prepare students to work them in the game , such as verbs in correct times and dialogues that facilitate teamwork . Each student has his "little book" as a support. 

       During the game they hear and sing songs they learned during the month. Everything is done with great freedom and pleasure as well as students and the teacher . When there is pleasure in learning there is pleasure in teaching! Chess Game does not occupy the central role of the classes , but certainly it is a motivating factor that has made a difference !
